The Core 8 is a new room in The Money Museum that consists in one education exhibition with a ludic component about the financial system and the role of the Portuguese Bank and the Central Bank.
In this fully interactive room, you discover Banco de Portugal, its mission and duties. In an accessible way, visitors understand that from macroeconomics to simply going to the bank, when withdrawing money or making a transfer, when buying a house or a cup of coffee, all these actions involve the central bank. But it is in everyone’s daily life that money acquires a concrete and real meaning. For this reason, the central goal of this room is to promote financial inclusion.

EDIGMA was the company responsible by the development and installation of this exhibition composed of 2 introductory panels and 10 interactive modules on the various financial topics, such as cash circulation, price stability, payment systems, the functions of Banco de Portugal, among others.
In an interactive way, visitors to the Museum have a better understanding of the importance of a central bank in their daily lives.
