Aiming to preserve the cultural patrimony of one of the oldest villages in Minho’s region, Cabeceiras de Basto Municipality decided to create the House of Time.
In this interpretative center, the territory’s heritage, fauna and flora, monuments and traditions are presented to tourists and population in a completely innovative way.
Offering an interactive and engaging journey, rather than a set of boring spaces and exhibitions, House of Time’s mission is to create an enduring memory that lead visitors to fervently wish to explore and get in touch with the wonderful reality portrayed in this one-of-a-kind museum.

Multitouch Table
In order to offer a complete visual overview about the whole exhibition, it was created a space with a tilted multitouch table.
Each of the eight area’s of House of Time are portrayed in this interactive app, offering information, images and even the plant of the corresponding room.
The fact that the contents presented in the table’s LCD are also projected on a wall, enables several people to acknowledge, at the same time, what they are about to see.
Interative Floor
Mystery and surprise are the greatest triggers of discovery and imagination. Therefore, EDIGMA decided to create an interactive tunnel that transformed a dark corridor into a passage for a new dimension.
Four EDIGMA Moovit units were used to display interactive contents on the floor, representing the four seasons of the year, with sounds (rain, thunder, wolf howl, bird, water, etc.) complementing the visual effects.
Additionally, fluorescent drawings of some of the region’s landmarks (bread, olive oil, grapes and flax flower) were placed on the tunnel’s walls, thus contributing to the desired ambience.
A mix of images, sounds and interactive effects, this tunnel definitely represents a roller coaster for visitors’ senses!
Display
Cabeceira de Basto has twelve civil parishes.
Each of them is represented in an interactive map showcased in a EDIGMA Pad multitouch display.
By zooming, navigating and touching the map, people are able to read more info about each parish, check photos of its biggest attractions and watch brief videos about its history and particularities.

Interactivity
In this equipment, visitors can explore an interactive map with Cabeceiras de Basto’s main points of interest, touristic information about this village, news, a calendar of events, a list of activities, contacts and also give feedback or address questions about the city or the House of Time.
