In a territory shaped by centuries of underground history, EDIGMA had the privilege of collaborating with the Municipality of Aljustrel in the creation of the new Reception and Interpretation Center of the Aljustrel Mining Park, where it was responsible for production and installation, as well as multimedia and digital animation components.
More than just a place to visit, this center offers a sensory and immersive experience, where the collective memory of the mining community comes to life.
One of the project’s highlights is the immersive tunnel, designed to evoke the miners’ daily life. Lanterns cast shadows and lights that accompany work songs and the invocation of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of miners. In this setting, the hymn echoes as a tribute to the courage and resilience of those who, for generations, lived from the depths of the earth.
The Aljustrel Mining Park is a living space, where stories are told through innovation. It is a museum environment without conventional walls, a place for learning, feeling, and reflection. By integrating digital and interactive resources, EDIGMA helped make knowledge accessible to all audiences, reinforcing its commitment to the enhancement of the territory and the preservation of its authenticity.
