The Space of Casa da Baía da Horta works as a crossroads for travelers, stories and routes of the world. Using the 3 corners of the building for exhibition areas that explore 3 themes for visitors: The testimonies of the Bays of the World, the history of Faial Bay and the routes and distances in the World. The use of various media, enhance the exploitation of content, between old testimonies and new testimonies of visitors.

Horta belongs since 2012 to the restricted Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World, which consists of more than three dozen coves distributed a little throughout the planet. “The Most Beautiful Bays in the World” is a Unesco-based non-profit organization. Founded on March 10, 1997 in Berlin, the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World aims to contribute to sustainable tourism, economic and social development, through the exchange of experiences between participants.

Horta is a city full of sailor spirit and maritime legends. The walls of the marina have no empty spaces, being covered with paintings made by the iatistas so that luck smiles on their journey by sea. It’s an outdoor gallery. Horta Marina is the fourth most visited marina in the world. Its location offers an excellent shelter against the winds of all directions and makes it an almost mandatory stopover for sailboats travelling from the Caribbean towards the Mediterranean.
