Chasing Waterfalls wins Edigma Semibreve Award 2024
We are thrilled to announce that ‘Chasing Waterfalls,’ a collaboration by Myriam Bleau and Lucas Paris, has been awarded the EDIGMA Semibreve Award 2024.
Chasing Waterfalls presents a captivating exploration of digital and physical worlds, merging them through a twisted screen structure that evokes the fluidity of a waterfall. The work uses AI-generated animations of water, which gradually break down into pixelated data streams, highlighting the tension between organic and machine-made realities.
The structure’s unique form creates anamorphic effects, revealing hidden images from specific angles, and challenging our perception of information as immaterial. Through this piece, Bleau and Paris critically examine the allure of AI and the consequences of prioritizing technological advancement over pressing social and environmental issues.
