Born in the Douro river margins, near Cais de Gaia, Porto Cruz Space is a place that, combining modernity and tradition, intends to celebrate Port wine and the “crème de la crème” of Portuguese art and culture.
Going through the five floors of this iconic building, visitors of all ages and backgrounds will find many attractions, such as a permanent exposition about Douro region (showcasing a sculpture from Architect Siza Vieira, a Pritzker winner), temporary exhibitions (with creations of famous Portuguese artists, like fashion designers Ana Salazar, Luís Buchinho and Katty Xiomara), a fully equipped wine tasting room, deCastro Gaia restaurant (by renowned Chef Miguel Castro e Silva) and Terrace Lounge 360°, a chill-out area located on the rooftop, where it’s possible to try creative Port wine cocktails while enjoying a spectacular view of Oporto’s and Gaia’s riversides.
Altogether, this project constitutes a complete breakthrough in the Port wine caves panorama. A “stage” where culture, art and Port wine are presented in a fresh, cool and revolutionary way.
Everyone is welcomed: from the finest connoisseur, to the most inexperienced layperson. After all, one of this space’s primary goals is to attract new audiences.
