Located in the city of Porto, the Serralves Foundation presents itself as one of the most successful and established cultural projects in the country. Internationally recognized for its valuable historical heritage and unique value, it stimulates the interest and knowledge of a diverse audience in contemporary art, architecture, technology, and critical societal topics.
SERRALVES challenged EDIGMA to absorb its identity and purpose as an institution in order to design a complete digital signage network capable of addressing the characteristics and needs of this unique space. The result is the creation of a communication ecosystem, composed of a set of digital signage and interactive solutions, designed to enhance culture and activities both inside and outside the space.
LED technology was incorporated into the space, initially positioned outside Serralves to attract its audience and potential visitors to ongoing activities. In a second phase, placed as a welcoming feature for visitors already inside the building. The six-piece outdoor video wall displays videos, animations, and visual content that capture the audience’s attention. This solution enables the promotion of events, institutional messages, and audiovisual artworks, creating a dynamic and engaging atmosphere that reflects the vitality of the cultural space.
Digital kiosks placed throughout Serralves enhance contextualization, providing visitors with a better understanding of themes, exhibitions, and the institution itself. For data enthusiasts, an interactive outdoor table installed in the garden allows them to understand the characteristics of the surrounding environment, from wind speed to temperature and humidity present in the plants.
Serralves now offers a more enriched experience to its visitors, promoting access to culture, facilitating orientation and interaction with the space, and stimulating interest in contemporary art and relevant societal topics.
